Our passion is to create quality homes that have a sense of belonging to the NSW Southern Highlands and South Coast landscape. We are inspired by the traditional architecture of our home territory and incorporate those classic design principles into our designs where possible.
We have over 50 years’ combined experience in residential and commercial construction, property development and business management. We live in the towns and villages where we build and we understand the essence of these places, believing that every project should add value to the street and to the broader community.

In addition to creating our own range of home designs, Building Versatility work with clients and architects on their own designs.
The relationship between builder and client is a close one and often extends over a 2 year period, so it’s important that both sides are comfortable before proceeding.
During our initial meeting, we will explain our processes with you and review your plans and ideas. If you then feel that we are a good
match for you, and we feel the same, the formal process of quoting and contracting to build your home can begin.

The number of projects we can take on at any one time is limited, as we always ensure that our team is not stretched and that our customer service and quality of supervision is maintained.
Designing to suit future needs
In response to a growing demand for attractive, environmentally efficient small homes, Building Versatility is developing a range of cottage designs that can be built as a secondary dwelling on your property. The first of these is HAMPTON COTTAGE, designed specifically to complement the architecture of the larger traditional homes of the Southern Highlands and South Coast towns such as Jamberoo, Kiama, Gerringong and Berry.
This classic cottage design with high pitched roof, weatherboards and French doors has an open plan living area and a generous bedroom with adjacent bathroom. There is an attractive level of inclusions in our standard package, as well as a range of optional extras such as a car port, fireplace and solar power.
Subject to planning approval, you could use this cottage for accommodation of an elderly parent, as a first home for young adults, or to generate a second income in the private rental market including Air B&B. Hampton Cottage is also a great option as an arts studio, home based business or guest cottage.
The NSW State Government has encouraged the development of secondary dwellings through the introduction of its complying development plan for Granny Flats. For properties that meet the requirements, this provides a fast track option for approval of a second dwelling through a private certifier. Building Versatility has been engaged to construct 8 two
bedroom cottages for seniors in the Southern Highlands village of Robertson, NSW. The project is currently in the planning assessment process. Construction is expected to commence in mid 2018 (subject to planning approval).
Building Versatility is developing a specialty in constructing small, medium density projects in the NSW Southern Highlands and South Coast that feature the traditional architecture of the region. Whether it’s a duplex or multiple small dwellings, Building Versatility can execute your plans through to completion, ensuring a quality finish that meets your expectations.
If your project still requires an approved set of plans, Building Versatility can connect you with survey, design and planning consultants if required. Our construction manager will also be involved in this process, to reassure you on the buildability and cost efficiency of the design. When you have your planning approval, we will then quote the project and prepare a building contract before proceeding.
